Compliance

Basic Concept

To sustain corporate activities in society, it is essential to comply with social norms and business ethics. In the CMP Group, compliance is recognized as an extremely important aspect amid numerous risks. For this reason, we are advancing companywide inspections centered on the Risk Management Committee and have established a guidance system
centered on the Compliance Committee to ensure thorough legal compliance.

Providing compliance education

For basic education, CMP has prepared a “Compliance Manual“ and audio materials in Japanese, English and Chinese. Those materials have been distributed to headquarters, subsidiaries and affiliates in Japan and overseas. In addition, CMP has conducted educational training on particularly important laws, regulations, social norms and rules for
different work types and subjects, especially for officers and employees in Japan.

Code of conduct for CMP Group directors and staff members

The CMP Group’s Code of Conduct—which promotes compliance with laws and regulations, management with a medium- to long-term perspective, and mutual understanding with stakeholders—is displayed together with its management policies at all affiliated companies and disclosed on the Group’s website.

Please refer to the page below for information regarding the CMP Group's Code of Conduct.

Whistleblowing System

Responding to revisions made to Japan’s Whistleblower Protection Act, we have established two reporting channels: an internal whistleblowing hotline for legal violations and Post 999, an anonymous consultation channel for reporting on non-legal compliance matters.

Our internal whistleblowing hotline for legal violations is available only in Japan and operates in accordance with the Rules for Internal Reporting of Legal Violations newly established following revisions to Japan’s Whistleblower Protection Act. Operating in eight countries and regions, Post 999 accepts a wide range of opinions, requests, proposals, and reports of misconduct, including corruption and bribery, from both inside and outside the Company.
