Protective coating is primarily designed to provide effective anti-corrosive protection. It generally comprises a system made up of single or a few layers of different coatings, including water-resistant, seawater-resistant, acid-resistant and weather-resistant paints. Drawing on its technical expertise and long-standing experience, CMP offers a comprehensive range of protective coating systems suitable for diverse industrial applications, including industrial plants and steel structures such as bridges.

CMP has been pursuing the expanded use of protective coatings across a variety of end uses, and continues to develop and supply high-quality products. These include e.g. corrosion inhibitor-containing coatings for enhanced long-term anti-corrosive performance; solvent-free and water-borne coatings to improve environmental performance; underwater coatings that can be applied by diver ; electromagnetic wave-absorbing coatings; and antifouling and foul-release coatings for power plant facilities such as seawater intake channels.

These are coating standards. Norsok standard is used in offshore facilities related in North sea projects and ISO12944 standard is used in worldwide industrial projects. Approved coating systems can be specified after approved test requirements for each classification by a third party.
