Basic concept
Human rights violations, such as child labor and forced labor, still exist in the modern world and remain issues requiring global attention. The Group strives to ensure full compliance with laws and regulations and to uphold fair and sound corporate ethics through its management policies and Code of Conduct. We are committed to prohibiting all forms of discrimination or harassment, including those based on race, gender, creed, age, sexual orientation, or any other attribute. We are taking the utmost care to prevent any human rights violations in our business activities.
In April 2024, we established the CMP Group Human Rights Policy, based on the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as the results of a human rights risk survey conducted within the Group.
Based on this Policy and the survey results, we will focus on conducting human rights due diligence, addressing human rights risks in the supply chain and occupational health and safety, and establishing grievance mechanisms overseas. Additionally, we will further enhance awareness of human rights through training and education for all employees.
Furthermore, we will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to prevent human rights issues related to our business activities.
Our UK subsidiary, CHUGOKU PAINTS (UK) LIMITED, complies with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and has issued a statement affirming its commitment to preventing forced labor and other human rights abuses, not only within the subsidiary itself but also throughout its supply chain.
